For the last two years Great British Motor Shows team have been operating carbon neutral, even carbon positive (off setting more carbon than the operations of the business creates). This has been important in our move to improve and reduce the impact on the environment.
For 2024 onwards, we are taking the extra step; Great British Motor Shows is going carbon neutral from 2024 for all of our operations plus visitors and exhibitors to our shows meaning all our shows will be carbon neutral. This means your visit to any of our shows, your exhibit journey to and from our shows and trader visits alongside our team and business operations are going to be at least carbon neutral.
We are working with different companies who will be working across the globe on carbon off-setting, environmental sustainability initiatives and a number of renewable energy projects to allow us to continue our shows in an environmentally friendly way.
A portion of the ticket and entry costs are now going to be going towards a variety of different projects each month throughout the year. We’ve been working with Ecologi to have a climate positive workforce and now we’re also joining forces with Sustainable Travel International to support the visitor and exhibitor carbon off-setting schemes.
We believe this is a first for the industry and are continuing to find ways to improve our environmental sustainability through new technologies and alternative solutions. Part of this is exploring new and alternative fuels to allow us to keep our motoring history alive without losing our heritage and to allow us, more quickly, to reduce all our carbon emissions. We are in talks with exploring a number of options and companies who are advanced in their second generation bio fuels and synthetic fuels and we’d like to support this industry more to help us realise both our environmental goals across the country and world and also to help us keep our motoring heritage alive for generations to come.
